Plein air painting at Bonelli Park, San Dimas, CA
Growing up in Southern California's beautiful weather has enabled me to be out and about quite frequently allowing me to seek new subjects to draw or paint.
When asked what my favorite medium is, I would most likely tell you "I love watercolors of course". I fell in love with art and played with so many colors in the first grade with the guidance of a wonderful teacher. Most days after school she invited me to work in her classroom while I waited for my mom, who also taught at the school. I continued to paint in as many colors as often as she arranged more fresh flowers. I experienced instant joy with the way I could handle watercolors and I learned to see more than what was before me. I was able to free myself to the excitement of spontaneous exploration.
Today my audacious curiosity leads me to constantly revisit my childhood and see how I can explore the world around me with as many mediums as I can. I’ve been fortunate to be able to create art and share my perspective on life. It provides a brief glimpse into some of the people and places I have connected with. A feeling of excitement exists within me whenever I paint and I hope to help create that within others through my art.
I thank you for taking the time to see this colorful world with me!
